Provides great traction, but... May 09, 2011
By D. Dacera-Ross

These gloves provide excellent traction that allows you to hold poses such as downward dog. I experience a couple of problems though. First, it's made of material similar to those basic winter gloves. Even though it says cotton, it's not very breathable (I guess because it has a nylon mix) so it makes my hands really warm and they end up sweating. Secondly, my hands, whether it's sweaty or not, slides in the gloves as I do the downward dog which causes the gloves to pinch in between my fingers. So, basically, the gloves provide good grip on the mat, but my hands don't grip well while in the gloves. I don't know what could be a better solution to this; if they should make a tighter fitting pair of gloves or perhaps instead of gloves invent some sort of rubber rings that you could insert on some of your fingers and palms just to add a little traction. Oh well, it's cheap enough so I don't feel terrible about the purchase. I still use it when I do yoga and just take it off when my hands start to get too warm.

Grippy Yoga Gloves are great! Mar 29, 2011
By Jen I'm glad I finally ordered something like this. I use these for yoga and other P90X work outs that require me to use my hands (push ups, etc.)because my hands sweat when I excerise. The only thing I wish was that I got a size smaller because they do slide a little when doing various pushups even on a yoga mat. I would still recommend these because they are more girly and a great cost point.

Not gonna stop me from slipping Jun 29, 2011
By Michelle Eason

I'm a big girl and I like to do yoga. I sweat. A lot. I slip on my mat. Not what you want to do in yoga. I've bought several mats, hoping they would help me keep from spontaneously planking when trying to hold Down Dog pose, but I had no success. Thought these little things would help. Maybe these would work for a 100 pound gal, but I'm afraid to try them out. The fabric that the gloves are made of is like a net and it is VERY stretchy. If they would stop me from slipping, it would be at the cost of my hands as the gloves cut into the spaces between my fingers. Couldn't return them because it wouldn't have been cost effective. Guess I can give them to someone else who is much lighter weight than me.

too warm Apr 26, 2011
By A. Mitchell I couldn't wear these very long during yoga because they made my hands too warm. Only tried them once.

Great for yoga on the carpet Mar 02, 2011

I like to do yoga in my carpeted bedroom, and using a mat has always been tricky because it slides. These gloves were the perfect remedy. They really helped me get a better grip for a more balanced Downward Dog. I find them to be really comfy too.
