Good treadmill, good price Dec 27, 2010
By Jeff Hatfield We bought this treadmill in anticipation of packing on a couple extra pounds for the holidays with the hopes of working them off (and then some more) ;). The treadmill, much like the added weight from the holidays, has met or exceeded our expectations. The construction of the treadmill is above average for the asking price. Unpacking the unit was a bit of an ad-hoc adventure but wasn't terribly bad overall. The unit operates relatively quiet and controls are fairly intuitive. My biggest dislike so far is the operation of the safety strap. The safety strap attaches to your body in the event you trip or need the treadmill to safely cease operation (immediately). There have been times where I was reaching for a drink located to the side of the treadmill (the drink holder is a bit shallow) and accidentally dislocated the safety strap as it is attached by a fairly weak magnet. That'd be fine except when you reattach the magnet, the treadmill program completely resets. Another minor shortcoming is the heart monitor feature doesn't seem accurate at all unless you hold on to the bars continuously throughout the program. Despite these things and perhaps a few other similarly nitpicking items, this is really a good value for the money and delivers where you need it most. I have not had the static electricity discharge problem others have described in other reviews. If you're looking for a good work out and don't require a top of the line model, this is definitely the model for you.

Do Not Buy this Treadmill Apr 28, 2011
By A. Hoffman
"Mr. Mom"
I purchased this treadmill as a Christmas present after reading the reviews regarding it online. It was not hard to assemble and for 4 months it worked fine. Then after 4 months it just quit, no life or power in it at all. I tried for three days to call the customer service hotline but was never able to get through. Either I would get a recording that they were not able to take my call due to heavy call volume or in the one case that I was able to get through I was on hold for over 15 minutes and then I got the recording that they were unable to to take my call due to heavy call volume. Finally I tried email and was able to get a response. They had me check all the connections on the machine to no avail. Now they advise that the warranty has expired but they can recommend a service tech at my expense. I recommend that you look for another treadmill.

Very Good Treadmill Jan 02, 2011
By T. Macklin I ordered this treadmill from Amazon.com and it arrived promptly and on time. I didn't have to worry about being at home, since the driver left it at the top of my stairs. Very nice!
This treadmill is very heavy. I had to get help assembling it, but assembly was a breeze. It took about an hour.
Without even reading the manual, I plugged it in, flipped the switch and was immediately climbed onboard to start walking. Ok, so I was a bit anxious about getting fit! The controls are extremely easy to use. (I started with the manual cycle.) If I get bored with that cycle, I switch to the 'weight loss' cycle, which really gives a good workout, causing me to actually run for a minute or two. The unit is not too loud. I was also concerned about the weight capacity, since I weigh close to the maximum weight. No problem. The walk is smooth and effortless. The only thing that dissapointed me was the folding status. Even when folded, the unit takes up quite a bit of space, since it doesn't fold completely flat. However, I plan to keep it open most of the time, so that's ok.
I would highly recommend this product, as for the price it is very effective, looks nice in my small living room and works as stated.

EXECELLENT BUY Jan 04, 2011
By Commander Mike I 've researched on the web, and picked this machine (NOV 29,2010)over others like the cheap ones in walmart. I am not disappointed, because it has not failed, i used it 3-4 times a week. I like the auto incline (which the 715 model does not have). Starting and stopping are so easy. The only thing is that you are giving the choice of time 10, 15, 20, 30,45,60 minutes; but it's okay, i'll stop it if am doing less than that. Assembly was very tedious, I did take my time, about 2 hours overall, because i did not want to mess up. Yes I had to read the manual, because some screws were so alike. There were some chinese writing on some of the screw labels, too bad this machine is made in china, the labels do say DESIGNED in the USA. The delivery was ok, they left it at the garage door, so be prepared to move it inside, because this thing is heavy (160 lbs). The mistake i made was to open the box right away, WHERE i was not planning on putting the machine, i opened the box and everything, later i relized it was better to place the closed box in the space you are planning to leave this machine. I am very satisfied, i was afraid this machine will not last 2 weeks, sicne this is my first treadmill ever, but so far so good. I rarely use the emergency key which has a magnet, and every now and then i do get some static by touching on the handle bars, but since we are in winter season, i get static anywhere in my house. The heart rate is ok, could be better, you have to continously grab the bars so that the rate is displayed, it starts from 70's and gradually going up. I'll come back in a few months to comment on how it's going. I do not folde the mahcine because it is on my office room which has plenty of space, If you are looking to fold your machine, do not anticipate saving space, only the treadmill board part which your run on folds at about 60'ish degree angle, the base stays put on the floor, it could be a dangerous if you have toddlers or children around it, since it could disengaged from the plastic node used to hold aluminun bar sticking out of the running-board,

SUPER COOL TREADMILL Mar 02, 2011
By I. GLENN This is the nicest treadmill I have ever owned. My last treadmill lasted 20+ years. The only reason I bought another one, is that the walking/running belt was beginning to frey along the edges.
On the Merit 725T, I love the smooth automatic incline, decline, & manual workout, and the pre-set programs workout, which helps you get the best workout for your ability level; the options are endless. The heart rate monitor bar is fantastic, and accurate. Whatever your preference, your workout can be simple, or as intense as you want it to be. The days of a ho-humm jog on the treadmill are over.
For the money, I haven't found a comparable treadmill yet; this thing has so many bells, and whistles; and compared to the photo, it is quite substantial in size. It is solidly built; also relatively quite, just like the ones that begin with the letters Pro., which do cost starting at 800.00. However, the difference is NO NEED FOR A SD CARD! EVERYTHING IS ALREADY PROGRAMMED IN!!!!! Just push a button to customize your routine.
Pilot Air Freight was to deliver (FREE) my treadmill between the hours of 9:00am/12:00 noon; they were in my driveway @ 9:15am. The hour for my scheduled delivery seemed predestined, because I get off @ 9am and return to work @ 1:30 in the afternoon. Everything came intact; nothing was broken, nor missing.
One thing it needs; are wheels on the front carriage bar, that can easily be installed when you wish to move the treadmill to another room. The wheels on the rear carriage bar are useless; the darn thing is too heavy to lift up, and roll with the wheels placed where they are. This design flaw is ridiculous physics for the average person.
Simple 10-20 min.installation, of the arms, and control panel-- tools, and 3 individually labeled bags of screws included
TIP: RED SAFETY KEY has to be plugged into the center console for treadmill's operation
After your workout, the bed tilts up, and secures with a heavy duty latch.
